Promoting Passion Convention Day 2
It’s been about 7 weeks and I can still feel the creative energy buzzing around me after attending Brooke Shaden’s 2017 Promoting Passion Conference. Part of me is secretly counting down ‘til next year’s because I just cannot wait to do it again and get another dose of creative inspiration. The other part of me is intensely savoring this creative high that I am on – I have never been buzzing with more creative energy than now. Surely, that must mean something, right? Regardless, I wanted to share day two of this amazing conference.
Every day of the Promoting Passion Conference we had creative time where we had the opportunity to go on a photo expedition with Brooke. On day 2 we went into the forest and played with smoke emitters. This was my first time working with them and they were amazing. She provided different colored emitters and each model had a different colored outfit. Each photographer went from model to model to capture their photos.
Earlier in the day, I attended Jessica Drossin’s class where she taught us how to create unique textures for images, how to create book covers and edit them. During the second part of her class, we went out to take some images that we could use for a book cover and the amazing part is that she was right there next to us taking photos. It was such an incredible experience to be able to work hands on with such an amazing artist.
That afternoon we had round table discussions with each artist but I was so eager to edit some of my images that I scurried off to my room for about an hour. I really disliked the idea of missing the discussions but I REALLY needed to satisfy my soul and edit some of the images – otherwise I don’t think I would have been able to focus because that is all that I would have been thinking about all night.
Question of the day: What photography workshops do you recommend attending? I’d love to hear your thoughts so please leave a comment 🙂
A big THANK you to our incredibly brave and talented models for posing, standing in the cold and never complaining about being cold.
